Chaotic Neutral- Players of the Caribbean by Rodie-The-Nightblade Chaotic Neutral- Players of the Caribbean by Rodie-The-Nightblade
I'm sure you guys have been part of/ran a/heard from a counter monkey about a story-driven pirate game.

I think you miss the certain allure playing in an all-pirate game holds for the average player- we get to kill things and take their loot for no reason other than "they're there," and be TOTALLY in character.

We can't *all* have Assassin's Creed IV.

First screencap comic in a LONG time that Squeejee09 has worked on with me! We're going to resume Wizards and Wand at some point too!

Here's looking at you, DragonTrainer13.

Good for the D.M too. If only so you can throw the ship's weight in monsters at them.

"Never get on the boat." -Spoony

The one time I willingly violated this rule it was because I was certain I could handle any threat that came at us, being a sorcerer.

Our GM tried to throw us for a loop by having the at-sea encounter be an enemy warship coming at our schooner, with us having the advantage in speed and terrain (due to weather effects.)

I decided "to hell with that noise, I'm a mage." and promptly dove into the water with the Amulet of Sirine's Grace I had started the game with (Cha mod as deflection bonus to AC and Swim speed, water breathing and freedom of movement? Yes plz) and, ignoring the sharks that were of course there (they're not hitting me because Shadowcraft Mage is broken-fun) I swam underneath said warship and Disintegrated the hull. Nothing they could do, no Line of Sight to shoot me/counterspell me, and ruined the night because the GM had planned for this to be an all-session event.

The point is, just skip ship traveltime unless the encounter is purely on deck. It's either going to be unsolvable or too easy.

Ah, but that's why a pirate game *should* be PERFECT!
